World Marrow Donor Day 2019

On September 21, 2019, Romania, along with 57 other countries, celebrates World Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donor Day.

Between September 20–21, in Bucharest and 15 other large cities in Romania, we will organize the seventh edition of the “Donate a Chance for Life!” campaign. The “Donate a Chance for Life!” campaign is an event of public interest and is supported by the Ministry of Health. In Bucharest, in Unirii Park, we want to organize a series of events in partnership with the Bucharest Hospitals and Medical Services Administration, professional organizations and civil society organizations that carry out activities in this field.

The goal of this year’s campaign is to bring to the public’s attention and raise awareness of the importance of registering with the RNDVCSH. Any healthy person between the ages of 18 and 45 can be a potential donor and save the life of a patient diagnosed with a serious blood disease that has no treatment.În cadrul campaniei, vor fi realizate o serie de activități de informare, educare și comunicare pentru înscrierea în Registru:

  • Advertising tents and a plasma screen on with educational films will be projected will be installed in Unirii Park.
  • On September 20th, a press conference will be organized where we will talk about patients, donors and volunteers who helped increase the number of donors and more
  • Ambassadors of RNDVCSH, donors and patients will be with us throughout the campaign.

On the evening of September 21, 2019, we will celebrate World Marrow Donor Day with messages of thanks to already registered donors and raise awareness of the importance of active involvement in increasing the number of registered Romanian donors.
