The National Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors is the institution responsible for coordinating and supervising the recruitment, testing and donation of hematopoietic stem cells from unrelated donors, according to the standards of the World Marrow Donors Association.
Mission
The NRHSCVD mission is to identify and ensure, at international standards, unrelated compatible voluntary donors of hematopoietic stem cells to all patients from Romania in need for a hematopoietic stem cells transplant and for whom there are no related compatible voluntary donors.
Vision
The NRHSCVD vision is that all patients from Romania in need for an unrelated transplant of hematopoietic stem cells to undertake the intervention in one of the Transplant Centres in the country.
Quality, safety and WMDA management systems
Following the assessment made by the World Marrow Donors Association (WMDA), the National Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors was granted Benchmark L2 certification.

We ensure the efficient supply of hematopoietic stem cells for patients who need a stem cell transplant and perform the intervention in one of the transplant centers in the country.
The registry was established by Government Decree No. 760 of July 1, 2009.
The regulation on the organization and functioning of the National Registry of Voluntary Hematopoietic Stem Cell Donors was approved by Order number 1023/2017 of the Minister of Health.
